The Fruition of the Bukchong Conference Spread Throughout the Country!
Following the example of the North Korean leader Kim Il Sung in April 1961, he announced the historic Bukchong Conference. One of the results was reclamation of highland areas in order to develop into irrigated orchards.
After thhe Bukchong Conference, Bukchong County built orchards 4-5 times larger than before liberation- and now for your apple a day in North Korea it is the ‘Bukchong apple’ that became the apple to eat.
