The White Tiger (Paekho) art studio

White Tiger is a cooperative of over 250 people; Painters, sculptors, and graphic artists, who provide art and sculpture for the state. When it was first established, it was run by the military.

Some artists have previously gone abroad to work in countries such as Egypt, Iraq and Syria during the 1990s and 1980s, creating monuments and monumental sites. They are famously known for producing panoramas and dioramas, their signature art.

Tourists can visit the ground floor which is a gallery. It’s located in East Pyongyang, near the Munsu Water Park, just across the street from the Iranian Embassy.

It’s not possible to visit the actual artists’ facilities, but you can have a look around the White Tiger gallery and shop area.

Usually selling normal North Korean art, this place is great for random unique finds.
