'Starting Work' Series

North Korean Linocut Art Series

A commission in 2015-2016 by Koryo Studio with artist Kim Ik Hyon to produce a series of 5 North Korean linocuts based on typical jobs for young women. Koryo Studio discussed with 30 female high school students what jobs they believed to contribute the most to North Korea (DPRK) society today.

The series was exhibited as part of the show ‘Verbeelde Werkelijkheid’, werk van kunstenaars uit Noord-Korea.

The exhibition was held at Arnhems Buiten in Oosterbeek, the Netherlands, in May 2018.
